New blog

I just started a new blog (http://k75swartz.wordpress.com/). Check it out if your interested.

Hey

Just letting everyone know (the 5 people who actually read my blog) that I have a FaceBook page now. For those who don't know what FaceBook is it's like a blog with added feature and you can search for people you know and check out their pages. Anyway I am going to be posted pics and videos on FaceBook and trying it out.

Tag, your it!

I've finally got someone I can tag. My sister tagged me months ago and I had no one to tag. Now I do; Cindy, your it! Cindy is my sister-in-law who just started a blog. Cindy here is what you do:

RULES: Link to your tagger and list these 3 rules on you blog. Post 7 things about yourself, some weird, some not so much. Then tag whoever you'd like by leaving their names and links to their blog. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

For those who may have missed it here are my 7 things:

My favorite shirt is a Spider-Man shirt from Wal-Mart that I wear at least 3 times a week (when it's clean)

My other favorite shirt is a Transformers shirt with the Autobot's symbol on it (a gift from my sister)

I stay home with our two beautiful girls, Maya and Skylar

I love to dance

I can rap the Humpty Dance word for word

When company is over, my wife bans me from the Karaoke machine

Truth be told, I have read all the Harry Potter books at least twice (except for Deathly Hallows) I also cried while reading The Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows

Mirror Maze

Hey all,
I haven't said much about our trip to the Smokies, so; We had a blast! Went on a couple of hikes to waterfalls. Went to the Ripley's Aquarium and the Ripley's Museam. The video posted here is of the Mirror Maze. This was very cool!

She may not be Van Gogh, but...

Just spreading the news:
Skylar just published 6 new artwork on Artsonia.com. This is a very cool site. Any child can upload there painting or drawing and friends and family can view them on the site. You can also order gifts with any of the pictures on them. You can access Skylar's site under "Our online hang-outs" anytime, or just click on the link above.

Smoky Mountains pics (more to come)

Butterfly Release

It is time to release the butterflies! We had 4 butterflies that "hatched". This was a really cool project to do. We all learned alot about butterflies and caterpillars. Here is the website that we ordered the caterpillars from www.insectlore.com. They have all kinds of cool bug and animal projects. Our caterpillars turned into Painted Lady butterflies. Here are some cool tidbits about Painted Ladies:

• Butterflies are solar-powered! They need the sun to fly.
• Male Painted Ladies have smaller abdomens than females.
• Painted Lady Butterflies see more patterns, a wider range of color, and more shades of green than people do.
• Butterflies have taste sensors on their legs.
• Painted Ladies have 10,000 eyes.
• Her scientific name is Vanessa cardui

We took a few short video clips of the release. Enjoy!
